Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel hexagonal structure steel which can exist in atmospheric pressure by transforming into another hexagonal structure (atomic arrangement) different from a hcp steel which cannot exist in the atmospheric pressure.SOLUTION: There is provided the novel hexagonal structure steel which is formed by transforming iron into a hexagonal close-packed structure in pressure of 13 GPa or lower, then applying force other than hydrostatic pressure to the iron of the hexagonal close-packed structure (for example, tension force, shear force, bending force), in which iron atoms are embedded in a crystal lattice.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
