Abstract:

To provide a production method of an optical element in which occurrence of fogging and scratches on a glass surface can be suppressed in production even in the optical element in which fluorophosphate glass or the like having poor environmental durability is used.

A production method of an optical element includes: forming a preform from an optical material consisting of fluorophosphate glass (S1); cleaning the preform by pure water or weakly alkaline cleaning fluid (S2); performing press molding to the cleaned preform to be an optical element shape (S3), processing a surface of the optical material performed by press molding by a polishing agent to remove an alterated layer (S4); cleaning the optical material from which the alterated layer has been removed by a weakly alkaline cleaning fluid (S5); forming an optical function film in which the outermost layer becomes a water-impermeable film on a surface of the optical material that has undergone the cleaning after the molding (S6); and performing centering of the optical material in which the optical function film has been formed (S7); and cleaning the optical element after the centering at last (S8).
