To provide a highly productive application method and an apparatus therefor, which makes it possible to formulate the nearly uniform thickness and to make application on both sides simultaneously with high application speed.
An application membrane is simultaneously formed on both sides of an good to be coated 1 in such way that there are so arranged two application rolls 2, 2 respectively having rotary axis 3, 3 are placed nearly horizontally that the good to be coated 1 is put between them from both sides, while holding the plate shaped application good 1 so as to position an application surface in parallel in the direction of gravity, the good to be coated 1 and at least one of application rolls 2, 2 are so shifted in up and down direction that the good to be coated 1 can relatively move upward, and the good is made to pass between two application rolls 2, 2 to which an application fluid is adhered, while making the application rolls 2, 2 revolve in the opposite direction of movement of the good 1.
