To solve a problem that when producing a pottery product provided by a relief, request degree of a skilled art and time required in production are tremendous in a prior art, moreover when a pottery product in which a relief is provided is produced in a large amount, cost to maintain facility environment is tremendous, further design and form of a relief of pottery produced in a prior art are elementary and simple in many cases, particularly fresh taste is poor, and need of a modern consumer is not satisfied.
A relief mold in which a recess is formed in a foam polystyrene molding body is used depending on desired design and form to produce a pottery product in which a relief is provided. More concretely, a relief mold in which a recess is formed on a surface of a foam polystyrene molding body by one of or arbitrarily combining (1) dissolution by a solvent, (2) dissolution by a heat source, and (3) cutting by a cutting tool is used.
