Title:
PRODUCTION OF MOLDED FLEXIBLE POLYURETHANE FOAM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH08176256
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a molded flexible polyurethane foam without using any halohydrocarbon by reacting a specific polyol with a polyisocyanate compd. in the presence of water as the blowing agent, a foam stabilizer, and specific catalysts.

CONSTITUTION: A polyol having a terminal oxyethylene content of 5-20wt.% and a hydroxyl value of 30-100mgKOH/g (e.g. one obtd. by the addition reaction of propylene oxide and then ethylene oxide with glycerin) is reacted with a polyisocyanate compd. (e.g. tolylene diisocyanate) in the presence of water as the blowing agent, a foam stabilizer (e.g. an organosilicon surfactant), an organotin catalyst (e.g. tin octanoate), and 0.05-0.40 pt.wt. (based on 100 pts.wt. polyol) tert. amine catalyst represented by the formula (R1 and R2 are each alkyl; and n is 3 or 4).
