To provide a highly flame resistant molded product of a fiber- reinforced phenolic resin by compounding a flame retarder, which is easily handleable, easily to be added in a liquid state, and efficiently improves flame retardance of the molded product, without inducing any problem of dusting to deteriorate the working environment in blending into the resin.

The flame retarder comprising 1 pt.wt. of boric acid and 3-8 pts.wt. of sodium metaborate is used in producing the molded product of fiber- reinforced phenolic rein by impregnating a fiber base material with a resin composition compounding an acidic hardener and the flame retarder with a liquid resol-type phenolic resin and curing it.
