PURPOSE: To produce microspheroidal particles, especially microspheroidal particles containing silica as the base agent by atomizing a charged liquid substance which can be gelled through an atomizing orifice into a chamber to produce large liquid drops so that the drops are broken into moicrodrops and gelled while dropping.
CONSTITUTION: A changed liquid substance which can be gelled is sprayed through an atomizing orifice 4 into a chamber 1 to produce large liquid drops. The large drops are broken into minute drops which fall in the chamber while gelled. Namely, the liquid substance is changed at 13100 KV voltage by one or more positive or negative electrode 3 directly arranged in the liquid substance or arranged on the outer surface of the atomizing orifice 4 consisting of a conductive material, and the liquid produces large drips of 100 to 1000 μm diameter as a whole. The large drop is broken into minute spherical drops having 50 to 200 μm diameter as a whole.
