Abstract:
To obtain a mucilage of Cydonia oblonga, capable of uniformly providing a dispersion state of a pearly lustrous appearance blended in a lotion, etc., by omitting sterilization treatment of a seed of the Cydonia oblonga with ethylene oxide gas.
A seed of Cydonia oblonga is extracted with water and then sterilized by heating at 70-100°C temperature for 30-60min. The temperature is subsequently reduced to 30-40°C and a denatured alcohol and a preservative are added thereto to carry out dispersion. The obtained dispersion is filtered through a mesh and further through a filter to afford a mucilage of the Cydonia oblonga.
