Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide the subject compound as a base material for liquid detergents mild to the skin, excellent in liquid stability, and good in foamability and detergency.
CONSTITUTION: Reaction is made between an acidic amino acid di(trialkylammonium) salt and a 1,2-epoxyalkane in a mixed solvent of a lower alcohol with water, and the resultant reaction mixture is incorporated with 0.4-0.6 molar times, based on said ammonium salt, of an alkali metal hydroxide or triethanolamine followed by distilling off the lower alcohol, trialkylamine and a part of the water.
