Abstract:

To obtain an monosubstituted hydroxylamine by oxidizing a secondary amine to synthesize nitron and then hydrolyzing nitron.

A secondary amine of the formula (R1 and R2 are each a 1-8C alkyl, aryl, benzyl, etc.) (e.g. diisopropylamine) is oxidized with an oxidizing agent (e.g. hydrogen peroxide) by using one or more compounds selected from among carbon dioxide, a hydrogencarbonate and a carbonate in a solvent (e.g. water) at 20-80°C to give nitron. Then nitron is hydrolyzed with an acid (e.g. hydrochloric acid) to give an N-rmonosubstituted hydroxylamine. The molar ratio of the oxidizing agent/the secondary amine is 1-4 and the molar ratio of carbon dioxide and/or the hydrogencarbonate and/or the carbonate to the secondary amine is 0.1-1. The molar ratio of H+/the secondary amine in the hydrolysis reaction is 0.9-2.
