To obtain the subject compounds acting on the differentiation, growth, multiplication stimulation, life maintenance, etc., of cells by reholding the neutrophin-3 compounds expressed in procaryotic cells by a genetic engineering method in a redox buffer solution.
This method for producing a neurotrophin-3 compound comprises screening a cDNA library originated from human glioma with a probe prepared by chemically synthesizing a DNA coding a human β-nerve growth factor and subsequently labeling the synthesized DNA, inserting the obtained DNA coding the neurotrophin-3 compound into a vector, introducing the recombinant DNA into a procaryotic cell to express the neurotrophin by the genetic engineering method, grinding the cells, dissolving the ground products with a denaturing agent such as urea, diluting the denaturing agent with a redox buffer solution containing a mercapto group-free amino acid and controlled to a pH of 7-9 up to a non-acting concentration, and subsequently reholding the neurotrophin-3 compound therein. Thus, the objective active type neurotrophin-3 compound having an amino acid sequence of the formula is obtained.
