Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain the subject compd. useful as a virus inhibitor while reducing the usage of the amine and suppressing the formation of a byproduct by reacting a specific carboxamine and cyclopropylamine in the presence of hydroide or oxide of a specific element and performing the ring closure reaction of the formed product.
CONSTITUTION: 2-Chloro-N-(2-chloro-4-methyl-3-pyridyl)-3-pyridylcarboxamide represented by formula I and cyclopropylamine are reacted in the presence of hydroxide or oxide of a group IIa, IIb element (pref., calcium oxide) pref at 135-145°C for 6-7 hr to obtain N-(2-chloro-4-methyl-3- pyridyl)-2-(cyclopropylamino)-3-pyridinecarboxamide represented by formula II and, subsequently, the resultant compd, is treated with sodium hydride to be subjected to ring closure reaction to obtain the objective compd. represented by formula III.
