PURPOSE: To produce advantageously an inexpensive non-oriented electromagnetic steel sheet having an excellent magnetic characteristic by subjecting a hot- rolled steel sheet consisting of specifically composed C, Si, Mn, Al, S, Sb and Fe to annealing and cold rolling under adequate conditions.
CONSTITUTION: A hot-rolled steel sheet contg. 0.02wt% C, Tr W0.6% Si, 0.1W 1.0% Mn, ≤1.0% Al, ≤0.01% S and 0.01W0.03% Sb and consisting of the balance substantially Fe is subjected to box annealing for 0.5W20hr at 750W900°C to effect adequate grain growth in the hot-rolled sheet. The steel sheet is thereafter subjected to secondary cold rolling in a 5W20% draft range in the stage of working said sheet to a finish thickness by two times cold rolling including intermediate annealing. The sheet is then subjected to finish annealing preferably in an about 750W950°C range by which the non-oriented electromagnetic steel sheet having a high magnetic flux density, low iron loss and excellent magnetic characteristic is obtd.
