Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an o-phthalaldehyde-glutar aldehyde aqueous solution, while avoiding the direct use of crystalline o- phthalaldehyde (OPA) and further avoiding an inconvenience accompanied by the storage of the OPA.
SOLUTION: This method for producing an o-phthalaldehyde-glutaraldehyde aqueous solution comprises releasing the corresponding alcohol from the acetal of o-phthalaldehyde in a 10-60% glutaraldehyde aqueous solution in the temperature range of room component to 100°C to convert into o-phthalaldehyde, and subsequently removing the released alcohol.
