PURPOSE: To efficiently obtain an oligosaccharide containing plural glycosyl bonds by reacting plural saccharide derivatives for forming two plural glycosyl bonds by reaction without influence of a combination of each active group and activator and without isolating an intermediate.
CONSTITUTION: A saccharide derivative of formula I [X1 is active group activated by glycosylation reaction activator A1; Y is (protected) hydroxyl group or (protected) hydroxymethyl; (p) is 0 or 1-6] is reacted with a derivative of formula II (X2 is active group activated by glycosylation reaction activator A2; R1 is H or trialkylsilyl; (q) is 0 or 1-6) to form glycosyl bond between a bond position of X1 of formula I and oxygen atom bonded to R1 of formula II. The reaction product is reacted with a saccharide derivative of formula III (X3 is active group inactive to A1 and A2; R2 is as shown for R1; (r) is 0 or 1-6) in the presence of the activator A2 and a glycosyl bond is formed at part between a bond position of X2 of formula II and oxygen atom bonded to R2 of formula III to give the objective oligosaccharide of formula IV.
