Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide an optical porous glass preform at a higher synthesizing rate than before.
CONSTITUTION: Flow velocity control members 3a and 3b are set between a fine glass particle synthesizing burner 1 and a target rod 2 to constitute an optical fiber porous glass preform producing device. The burner 1 is reciprocated in the longitudinal direction of the rod 2, a glass forming raw gas and a combustion gas are supplied to the burner 1 to synthesize fine glass particles which are deposited around the rod 2, and an optical fiber porous glass preform is produced.
