Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a homogeneously doped easily sinterable gel, stably, by hydrolyzing a solution of Si(OCH3)4 containing other metal alkoxides with an acid, exposing the resultant gel to ammonia vapor, and drying the product.
CONSTITUTION: A mixed solution composed mainly of Si(OCH3)4 and added with other metal alkoxides as dopants, is hydrolyzed with an acid, and the obtained gel is exposed to ammonia vapor to neutralize the acid and dried to obtain the easily sinterable gel. Since ammonia vapor can be permeated rapidly in the gel prepared by this process, an easily sinterable homogeneous gel can be produced in high stability.
