Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain the optical shutter element which makes a fast response and is low in driving voltage and superior in production efficiency by applying electrode groove formation by chemical etching and metallic film adhesion by electroless plating to a substrate which is polished specularly and has electrooptic effect in combination. CONSTITUTION:The ceramic substrate 1 which has the electrooptic effect is polished specularly, then electrode grooves 4 are formed by a photoresist method, and metallic electrodes 5 are formed by the electroless plating. Therefore, there is neither the peeling nor the damage of the electrodes due to machining in the production process. Consequently, the production efficiency is improved greatly, the fine electrodes having superior use strength are formed, and fast responsiveness and low-voltage driving are realized.
