Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject optically active compound useful as a catalyst for an asymmetric synthesis, etc., by a simple operation in a large amount by reacting a specific imine with a phosphonic acid ester in the presence of the catalyst for the asymmetric synthetsis, bringing the reaction product into contact with acid to deprotect the amino group.
SOLUTION: An imine of formula I [R1 is diphenylmethyl or an alkoxyphenyl; R2 is an alkyl, a cycloalkyl, an aryl group-containing hydrocarbon or a (substituted) aryl] is reacted with a phosphonic acid ester of formula II (R3 is an alkyl, a cycloalkyl, allyl, an aryl or an aryl group-containing hydrocarbon) in the presence of a catalyst for the asymmetric synthetsis shown by formula III (Lu is a rare earth element; X is an alkali metal) to synthesize a phosphonate-based compound, then bringing the product into contact with an acid or hydrogen to deprotect the amino group and further hydrolyzing the OR3 group to give the objective optically active 1-aminophosphonic acid derivative of formula IV or formula V.
