Title:
PRODUCTION OF OPTICALLY ACTIVE POLYKETONE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3526956
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain the subject polymer useful for chromatography for separating and purifying an optically active substance, a material for separation, a ferroelectric material, etc., by reacting a mono-substituted ethylene with CO in the presence of a complex of a prescribed phosphine having binaphthalene structure and a Pd salt.
CONSTITUTION: A mono-substituted ethylene of formula II [R1 is a 1-9C (substituted) alkyl, an aralkyl or a (substituted) aryl] (e.g. propylene) is reacted with carbon monoxide in the presence of a palladium-phosphine complex comprising a phosphine of formula I (Ar1 is a lower alkyl, a lower alkoxyl or a phenyl which may be replaced with one or more halogens) {e.g. [2-(diphenylphosphino)-1,1'-binaphthalen-2'-yl](1,1'-binaphthalen-2,2'-yl)phosphite, etc.} and a palladium salt (e.g. an alkylpalladiumcyclooctadiene halide) under pressure at 20°C for 4 days while stirring to give the objective optically active polyketone of formula III ((n) is 10-10,000).
