Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain a desired organopolygermane having a monomodal molecular weight distribution in high yields within a short time by reacting diiodogermylene with a specified organometallic compound. CONSTITUTION:An organopolygermane comprising repeating units of formula I is prepared by reacting diiodogermylene with an organometallic compound of the formula: RM [wherein M is Li or MgX (wherein X is halogen); and R is H, 1-20 C alkyl, (substituted) benzyl or (substituted) phenyl] (e.g. CH3MgBr).
