Title:
PRODUCTION OF OXIDE SUPERCONDUCTOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3163122
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a process for producing an oxide superconductor capable of increasing the critical current density of a Bi-based oxide superconductor in a magnetic field to a practical level.
CONSTITUTION: The objective superconductor can be produced by mixing 100 pts.vol. of Bi-based oxide superconductor powder with 1-40 pts.vol. of oxide powder having pinning action, e.g. powder of ZrO2, Cr2O3, NbO, NbO2, Al2O3, HfO2, MgO, TiO, CaO, NiO, SrO and Sc2O3, heating the mixed powder to a temperature T1i selected in the range of 800-900°C, sintering by slowly decreasing the temperature from T1i to a temperature T1f lower than T1i by 2-10°C spending a specific time, quenching the sintered material to a temperature T2 below 50°C and heat-treating the quenched product at a temperature T3 selected in the range of 400-700°C.
