Title:
PRODUCTION OF PATTERNED CANDLES
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5846030
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: Pellets or particles of colored wax and pellets or particles of uncolored wax are separately fed from two or more hoppers to the inlet of an extruder, kneaded, extruded, and cooled to effect the mass production of beautiful candles with a variety of colored patterns with simple operations.

CONSTITUTION: A wax for candles is fused with heat and combined with a dye or pigment, then dropped through a nozzle into pellets or particles under cooling. These pellets or particles and other uncolored pellets or particles of wax are separately fed from a plurality of hoppers (1a, 1b, 1c) to the inlet of an extruder, kneaded and extruded at a temperature of 30W45°C inside the cylinder 4, cooled to give candles with colored patterns. The process according to the present invention permits the smooth feed to the extruder and the free control of the feed rate. Colored patterns of spots, like insects or like clouds are readily obtained.
