USE: An intermediate for synthesizing a vinyl ether monomer represented by formula II useful as a modifier for chemically stable various plastic materials or various fluorocarbon polymers.
PREPARATION: A compd. represented by formula III and a compd. represented by formula IV (P is a cation or a group capable of forming a cation) are reacted in a solvent such as tetraglyme in the presence of a catalyst such as CsF under a time and temp. condition sufficient to form the compd. represented by formula I to obtain the compd. represented by formula I.
