Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a perfume composition capable of shortening the aging period for irritating odor elimination, excellent in heat resistance, useful for foods and rouge, etc., by heat treatment or ultrasonic irradiation treatment of a specific perfume mixture in the presence of a dehydrating agent.
CONSTITUTION: This perfume composition is obtained by a heat treatment (e.g. at 30-200°C) or an ultrasonic irradiation treatment (e.g. irradiation with 20-35kHz ultrasonic waves) of (A) 100 pts.wt. of a perfume mixture comprising an alcohol such as trans-2-hexenol and an aldehyde such as trans-2-hexenal (B) in the presence of pref. at least 1 pt.wt. (esp. 10-40 pts.wt.) of a dehydrating agent such as a molecular sieve, anhydrous sodium sulfate, anhydrous copper sulfate, anhydrous magnesium sulfate, anhydrous calcium chloride or silica gel.
