PURPOSE: To efficiently produce the good-quality photosensitive body in a short period of time by forming an amorphous silicon layer on a base body, then forming a charge transfer layer thereon by passing the base body in the photosensitive liquid in an annular container while bringing the outer peripheral surface into sliding contact with the bore side of the container.
CONSTITUTION: A charge generating layer 101 and the charge transfer layer 102 are laminated on the conductive base body 100. The amorphous silicon layer 101 is formed as the charge generating layer 101 on the base body 100. Thereafter, the charge transfer layer 102 is formed on the amorphous silicon layer 101 by axially moving the base body 100 formed with the amorphous silicon layer 101 in the charge transferable photosensitive liquid 21 housed in the annular container 22 while the outer peripheral surface of the base body 100 is brought into sliding contact with the bore side of the annular container 22. The good-quality photosensitive body is produced efficiently in a short period of time in this way, by which the cost of the photosensitive body is reduced and the quality is improved.
