Abstract:
PURPOSE: To produce a pollution-free nitro compound of pyridine and pyridine derivative without using an inorganic acid such as nitric acid, sulfuric acid or phosphoric acid, which is troublesome to handle.
CONSTITUTION: Pyridine or pyridine derivative, dissolved in a halogenated organic solvent, is reacted with oxygen containing nitrogen oxide and ozone or air at a mild temperature to provide the objective nitro compound of pyridine or pyridine derivative.
