PURPOSE: To obtain the subject yarn in which twisted drawn parts and drawn parts of no twist are alternately and randomly formed in the fiber axial direction by using a heated hot pin heater in a drawing zone and providing a twist setting tenser between the drawing zone and a false twisting zone and intermittently producing twist slip under specific conditions.
CONSTITUTION: Undrawn polyester multifilament yarn having 40 to 80×10-3 birefringence ratio (Δn) is drawn and false twisted. In the process, a hot pin heater heated at ≥100°C is used in a drawing zone and a twist setting tenser is installed between the drawing zone and a false twisting zone. Twist slip is intermittently produced so as to provide 5-50% twist slip ratio by the twist setting tenser. Thereby, the objective polyester fancy yarn in which twisted drawn parts and drawn parts of no twist are alternately and randomly formed in the fiber axial direction is obtained. Furthermore, the yarn contact length of the hot pin heater is preferably 20-95mm and the yarn contact length of the twist setting tenser is preferably 30-40mm.
