Abstract:

PURPOSE: To efficiently obtain a polyester fiber having silk-like optical characteristics, i.e., simultaneously having mild luster and transparency, and having no irregularity on the optical characteristics.

CONSTITUTION: A method for producing a polyester fiber having silk-like optical characteristics is characterized by adding a glycol slurry to the reaction system in an arbitrary process before the completion of the polycondensation reaction of the polyester in an amount of 0.01-0.40wt.% as the amount of the particles on the basis of the obtained polyester and subsequently melt-spinning the obtained polyester. The glycol slurry contains the particles having an optical refractive index of 1.3-2.0, an average primary particle diameter of 5-50μm and an average secondary particle diameter larger 3-12 times the average first particle diameter in the slurry.
