Abstract:
PURPOSE: To produce a foam which is biodegradable when buried in soil, excellent in mechanical strengths such as tensile and impact strengths, and useful as a cushioning material, a thermal insulator, a packaging material, a food container, a screen, etc.
CONSTITUTION: An aliph. polyester having a melt viscosity of 1.0×103-1.0×106P at 190°C under a shear rate of 100sec-1 and a m.p. of 70-190°C is thermally foamed using a blowing agent, giving a foam which is biodegradable. excellent in mechanical strengths such as tensile and impact strengths, and useful as a cushioning material, a thermal insulator, a packaging material, a food container, a screen, etc.
