PURPOSE: To obtain a polysulfone hollow fiber membrane for producing clean water having superior water permeability by cooling a membrane producing soln. consisting of polysulfone resin, a hydrophilic polymer, water and a solvent common to them and causing micro-phase separation at a high temp. side and by producing a membrane with the resulting uniform soln.
CONSTITUTION: A membrane producing soln. consisting of polysulfone resin, a hydrophilic polymer, water and a solvent common to them and causing micro- phase separation at a high temp. side is obtd. by adding the hydrophilic polymer and water to a polysulfone soln. The obtd. soln. is cooled and a membrane is produced with the resulting uniform soln. to especially obtain a polysulfone hollow fiber membrane for producing clean water having superior water permeability. The polysulfone resin has repeating units especially represented by the formula, the hydrophilic polymer may be polyethylene glycol and the solvent may be dimethylacetamide or dimethylsulfoxide.
