Abstract:

PURPOSE: To easily obtain a general-purpose and non-discolored fiber with small single fiber fineness by mixing a tetrafluoroethylene-based polymer with an aqueous medium containing a specific surfactant into a paste which is then subjected to extrusion spinning followed by baking.

CONSTITUTION: (A) A tetrafluoroethylene-based polymer is mixed with (B) an aqueous medium containing a nonionic nonfluorosurfactant followed by preliminarily pressurizing the mixture into a paste which is then subjected to extrusion spinning, and the resultant fiber is baked to obtain the objective whitened polytetrafluoroethylene fiber.
