PURPOSE: To obtain a hard porous body having a high m.p. and producing a composite excellent in wear resistance with the molten metal of cast steel without being melted in the molten steel by sintering a coated material of a kneaded material of a specified ratio of mixture of WC powder and Ni power with specified grain size and a binder to a stainless wire gauze or the like.
CONSTITUTION: WC powder having ≤20μ average grain size is mixed with Ni powder or stainless powder with ≤20μ average grain size by 5 to 20%. This powdery mixture is kneaded with a binder, and a wire gauze or a punch metal sheet made of stainless is coated with it. This coated material is heated and sintered. Since the porous body obtd. by this method is hard and furthermore high in a m. p., it is not melted in the molten metal of cast steel even if the molten metal is impregnated and compounded therein., and the wear resistance and compounded therein., and the wear resistance of the composite remarkably improves. Thus, it is extremely effective for the application to places wearing most severely, e.g. in a bucket tooth of construction equipment.
