Title:
PRODUCTION OF POROUS SPHERICAL CELLULOSE PARTICLE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS63101437
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To facilitate the formation of porous spherical cellulose particles of a narrow particle size distribution, by immersing spherical cellulose particles in dimethylacetamide, removing water from the mixture, heating and swelling the particles by adding lithium chloride thereto.

CONSTITUTION: Spherical cellulose particles are immersed in dimethylacetamide, and water is removed from the mixture by heating. Lithium chloride is added to this mixture to swell the spherical particles. In this way, the purpose particles can be obtained. As said spherical cellulose particles, particles obtained either by mixing a viscose with an aqueous anionic polymer compound to form a dispersion of fine viscose particles, heating said dispersion or mixing said dispersion with a coagulant to coagulate the viscose in the dispersion and neutralizing the mixing with an acid to form fine cellulose particles, or alternatively by coagulating said dispersion with an acid, neutralizing the mixture to form fine cellulose particles, separating these particles from the mother liquor, and desulfurizing, acid-washing, water-washing or drying them are used.
