Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a powder antimicrobial agent having high safety, simplicity, safety and high antimicrobial effects by powdering essence of bamboo extracted with a solvent and a fatty acid monoglyceride by the use of dextrin as a film agent.
CONSTITUTION: 1pt. wt. essence of leaves and epidermis of stem of preferably Phyllostachys pubescens Mazel extracted with a solvent such as ethanol is blended with preferably 0.1-50 pts. wt. 8-12C fatty acid monoglyceride and stirred at 40-70°C for 5-30 minutes to give a dispersion. Preferably 0.5-10 pts. wt. (based on 1 pt. wt. dispersion) dextrin is dissolved in the dispersion and powder by spray-drying, cooled and stabilized to give the objective antimicrobial agent.
