PURPOSE: To produce the title powder for a plastic magnet having a low content of impurities and an excellent characteristic at a low cost by allowing a gas to collide with a molten magnetic metal injected from a nozzle to obtain semimolten powder, and dipping the powder in a molten org. polymer to solidify the powder.
CONSTITUTION: A magnetic metal is high-frequency-heated in a crucible 9. The obtained molten metal 2 is discharged from an injection nozzle 1, allowed to collide with a high-pressure gas injected from an annular nozzle 3, atomized, and half melted. The semimolten metal 2 is dipped in a bath 4 charged with a molten mixture 11 of an org. polymer and an additive, rapidly solidified, and spherically powdered. The powder 12 is recovered by a recovery vessel 5 and a filter 6, and the mixture of the polymer and additive deposited on the metallic powder is solidified to obtain composite powder at room temp. By this method, the powder for a plastic magnet with controlled oxidation and carbonization is obtained.
