Abstract:
PURPOSE: To efficiently deposit glass fine particles by raising deposition rate of glass fine particles.
CONSTITUTION: A log-density soot layer is deposited on the outer circumference of a glass rod which is a starting material by a burner for the first glass fine particle synthesis and then a high-density soot layer is deposited on the outer circumference while burning and fastening the above-mentioned low-density soot layer by a burner for synthesis of the second glass fine particles and then the above-mentioned deposition is repeated to produce a preform for optical fiber.
