To provide a production process of a cement-based hardened body which has high flexural strength such that the maximum flexural strength value attained after curing of the hardened body can almost steadily be maintained over a long period, and also excellent durability.
This production process involves subjecting a formed body containing 100 pts.wt. of the total amount of cement and an inorganic powder added at need and 2-20 pts.wt. of an organic polymer based carbonation promoter (such as ethylene) (vinyl acetate copolymer based emulsion), to carbonization curing, wherein, preferably, the carbonation curing is initiated within a period from the setting initiation point of the formed body to a point at which hydration age of the formed body reaches 10 days, also, before performing the carbonation curing water curing or wet-air curing is preferably performed, and further, as the cement, low-heat or medium-heat Portland cement having high belite content is preferably used.
