To provide a production process of V-ribbed belt, allowing just a single process production without polishing a rib portion so as to reduce tension deterioration.
In a production process of V-ribbed belt 1 comprising an extension portion 2, a compression portion 6 which has a plurality of ribs 7 extending in circumferential direction of the belt and a core wire 3 buried between the extension portion 2 and the compression portion 6; a belt vulcanizer comprising an outer mold with a rib mold carved on its inner peripheral surface and an inner mold loaded with a flexible jacket on its outer peripheral surface is used, and the production process for obtaining the V-shaped belt 1 is as follows: the extension portion 2 and a polyethylene naphthalate core wire 3 having 2-4% elongation under 200 N, 4-6% elongation under 300 N and 15-25 N in shrinkage stress and the compression portion 6 are sequentially wound to the surface of flexible jacket; thereafter the compression portion 6 is stuck fast to the rib mold of outer mold and vulcanized while extending the extension portion 2, the polyethylene naphthalate core wire 3 and the compression portion 6 all together by expanding the flexible jacket; and a demolded vulcanized belt sleeve is cut into a predetermined width.
