Abstract:
To provide methods for preparing recombinant proteins, such as antibodies, in eggs at high yield and low cost.
The present invention provides an expression system for delivering a recombinant protein to an egg comprising: (i) a first DNA sequence encoding the recombinant protein; (ii) a second DNA sequence which can facilitate the delivery of the protein to an egg of a bird, which encodes the CH2-CH3 region in the Fc domain of the immunoglobulin protein that can bind to a receptor on the egg; and (iii) a promoter operably linked to the first DNA sequence and the second DNA sequence for expression in birds.
