PURPOSE: To produce a pulley with less steps and with a good yield by subjecting a metallic slab which is used as a material in a combination of pressing and machining, in the manufacture of said pulley.

CONSTITUTION: A bar-shaped slab 7 which is used as a material is drawn to a shape having a side plate 700 and a cylindrical part 800 projecting from the outside circumference of this side plate into an axial direction. Next, with the outside circumference as a reference, a through-hole 701 for shaft is pierced and finally, plural V-shaped grooves 801 for the purpose of mounting a flat-type belt 6 are machined with a lathe or the like on the outside circumferential part of the cylindrical part 800, whereby the pulley is produced.
