Title:
PRODUCTION OF RARE EARTH ELEMENT-IRON-BORON MAGNET
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH03287724
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To easily produce a rare earth element - iron - boron magnet having high magnetic properties by sealing an ingot of rare earth element-iron-boron alloy in a metallic capsule and carrying out rolling under specific rolling conditions.

CONSTITUTION: An ingot of an alloy containing rare earth elements, iron, and boron as principal components is subjected to rolling in a state sealed in a metallic capsule. At this time, working conditions at the time of the above rolling are regulated so that ≥30% reduction of area is reached at 850-1000°C by means of rolling from two directions. By this method, the high-efficiency rare earth element - iron - boron magnet having high magnetic flux density and coercive force can be obtained.
