Abstract:

PURPOSE: To produce a titled salt compd. adequate as an additive for conductive paper, conductive ink, etc. by calcining a mixture composed of alkali titanate and calcium carbide in a non-oxidizing atm.

CONSTITUTION: (B) About 0.5W20pts.wt. calcium carbide (about ≤100 mesh grain size) is mixed with (A) 100pts.wt. the alkali metallic salt of titanic acid (e.g.; potassium titanate fibers having about ≥5μ fiber length and about ≥20 aspect ratio) expressed by the formula (M is an alkali metal, n is 2W12). The resultant compsn. is calcined for about 10W180min at about 500W1,000°C in an atmosphere of an inert gas (e.g.: nitrogen) or reducing gas (e.g.: hydrogen), by which the conductive reduced alkali metallic salt of titanic acid is obtd.
