Abstract:

PURPOSE: To simplify a process for production by impressing the voltages corresponding to desired film thicknesses to thin metallic films which are electrically separated and provided to correspond to the respective colors of three primary colors to anodize the films simultaneously and laminating thin transparent films and metallic reflection films having different film thicknesses in one stage.

CONSTITUTION: The thin metallic films 2-1W2-3 corresponding to the dots of the respective colors of the three primary colors are separately formed on a glass substrate 1, then the substrate 1 is immersed in an electrolyte 6 such as ammonium tartrate and the respectively different voltages are impressed to the respective films 2-1W2-3 to execute the anodic oxidation. The surfaces of the films 2-1W2-3 are chemically converted to form the thin transparent films 3-1W3-3. The thicknesses of the films 3-1W3-3 are controlled in accordance with the impressed voltages VR, VG, VB. The films 2-1W2-3 remaining as a sub-surface act as the metallic reflection films to reflect light transmitted through the films 3-1W3-3. The films 3-1W3-3 having respectively the desired film thicknesses are thereby simultaneously formed in one stage and the process for production is extremely simplified.
