Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain the subject resin having low residual strain, high transparency, light weight and excellent safety and processability and useful as eyeglasses, optical instrument, etc., by polymerizing a specific bisphenol derivative in the presence of a radical polymerization initiator. CONSTITUTION:The objective resin can be produced by polymerizing a bisphenol derivative of formula I [R is H or methyl; A is 1-2C alkylene; B is single bond, O, S, SO, SO2, group of formula II (R<1> and R<2> are H, methyl, ethyl, phenyl, etc.), etc.] in the presence of preferably 0.1-5 pts.wt. of a radical polymerization initiator such as diisopropylperoxydicarbonate.
