Abstract:
PURPOSE: To produce a resin useful as a matte coating with the resin alone even without using a flatting agent.
CONSTITUTION: The objective resin for a matte coating composed of (a) 20-80wt.% alkyl (meth)acrylate having a 1-4C alkyl group, (b) 10-50wt.% styrenic compound and (c) 10-30wt.% alkyl (meth)acrylate having a ≥5C alkyl group is produced. In the process, the component (a) is initially polymerized and the components (b) and (c) are then polymerized after the rate of polymerization attains ≥80%.
