Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a method for producing a silicone resin having a matte effect, excellent in weather ability and used for matte coatings without using a matte agent.
CONSTITUTION: The method for producing the resin for the matte coatings by copolymerizing at least two kinds of ethylenically unsaturated monomers selected from styrene and alkyl (meth)acrylate esters in two stages comprises controlling the polymerization degree of the first polymerization stage to ≥70% and adding an alkoxysilyl group-containing ethylenically unsaturated monomer to the polymerization system in at least either of the polymerization stages.
