PURPOSE: To eliminate the need for providing this sheet with a pigment-contg. binder layer and to prevent the degradation in the reflection luminance of beads within small block cells by provision of such binder layer by constituting the sheet in such a manner that vapor deposited metallic films do not exist in the spacings where the glass beads lining up in one layer on a supporting film are parted from each other.
CONSTITUTION: This retroreflection sheet is formed by embedding and supporting nearly the lower hemispherical surfaces of the glass beads 2 lining up one layer on the supporting film 5 and coated with the vapor deposited metallic films 4 and constituting the many hermetically sealed small block empty cells 7 isolated by continuous wire-like connecting walls between a transparent film 1 formed on the exposed front surface side of the glass beads 2 and the supporting film 5. The sheet is so formed that the vapor deposited metallic films 4 do not exist in the spacings where the adjacent glass beads 2 are parted from each other. The supporting film 5 is made into a combined structure including at least the upper layer side 5A and lower layer side 5B varying in properties from each other in order to provide the sufficient internal strength of the fine wire-shaped connecting walls connecting the supporting film 5 and the protective film 1 to prevent the rupture of the film by the internal flocculation and destruction.
