PURPOSE: To automatically produce rubber bands by arranging and weaving plural rubber threads and warp yarns parallel in a flat state, superposing both ends of the resultant beltlike substance, lockstitching regions between the rubber threads in the longitudinal direction, then sewing and tying the lateral side of the aforementioned superposed part and recarrying out lockstitching.

CONSTITUTION: Rows of plural rubber threads arranged parallel in a flat state and warp yarns are woven by using weft yarns to provide a beltlike substance. Both ends of the resultant beltlike substance are then superposed and regions between the rubber threads adjacent to both sides of the above-mentioned warp yarns are lockstitched in the longitudinal direction of the aforementioned beltlike substance. Both superposed ends of the above-mentioned beltlike substance are subsequently sewn and tied at the lateral side thereof and the aforementioned regions are then lockstitched again.
