Abstract:
PURPOSE:To produce a rubber compsn. excellent in heat resistance and resistance to fatigue by repeated deformation, by thermally treating a mixture contg. an ethylene-alpha-olefin copolymer rubber, a specific dinitrodiamine, and a free radical generator and then mixing the mixture with a filler and a crosslinker. CONSTITUTION:A rubber compsn. is produced by thermally treating a mixture contg. 100 pts.wt. ethylene-alpha-olefin copolymer rubber, 0.5-5 pts.wt. dinitrodiamine of the formula (wherein X is a divalent linear aliph., cycloaliph., or arom. group optionally contg. halogen or oxygen atoms; R<1> is H, or a linear aliph., cycloaliph., or arom. group, provided that when both X and R<1> are linear aliph., N atoms may combine with each other through R<1>; and R<2> and R<3> are each independently H or 1-12C alkyl, provided that they may combine with each other to form a ring) [e.g. N,N'-bis(2-methyl-2-nitropropyl)-1,6-diaminohexane], and a free radical generator at 20 deg.C or higher and mixing the mixture with a filler and a crosslinker.
